Revenue have updated the Covid Restrictions Support Scheme (CRSS) Guidelines to reflect the Government’s announcement that qualifying businesses recommencing from 29 April 2021 can claim double restart week payments for a period of two weeks, subject to a maximum of €5,000 per week. The ROS portal to claim double restart week payments is live from Wednesday, 12 May 2021.
Revenue confirmed in a press release that it will operate the enhancement to the CRSS on an administrative basis, pending the enactment of the necessary legislation providing for businesses to claim a restart week payment for two weeks on the reopening of their business under the most recent announcement of the easing of restrictions.
Updates to the CRSS Guidelines are as follows:
Businesses who qualified for CRSS and who, from 29 April 2021, become eligible to claim a “restart week” payment, can claim double “restart week” payments for a period of two weeks to assist them with the additional costs of reopening.
How to claim the restart week
Claims for the double restart week payments can be made via the claim portal in respect of CRSS, which is available via the eRepayments system on ROS. Claims must be made no later than 8 weeks from the date on which the restrictions, to which the restart week claim relates, are lifted.
Revenue confirmed in the press release that from 12 May payments will generally be made within 3 days of the submission of a qualifying claim.
